Sawabi, a chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society, invites all to its February program at 7:00 PM on Monday, February 1, 2016, in the North Fork Room (3rd Floor) of the Pond Student Union building, lower campus of Idaho State University.
At the beginning of the program, Dr. Karl Holte, will present The Plant Family of the Month. Our main speaker Geoff Hogander will give all an armchair tour in his talk My Trip to the Galapagos Islands. Recently Geoff visited 10 of the 18 major islands. Geoff’s presentation will include his photographs of his over-all adventure, plus emphasize many of the unique plants and animals found only there. The Galapagos Islands off the west coast of Ecuador have fascinated scientists since Charles Darwin developed the theory of natural selection after visiting them in 1835.
Geoff Hogander is a retired Bureau of Land Management wildlife biologist. After retirement, Geoff has worked with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and The Natural Resource Conservation Service and has done consulting work with the Sagebrush Steppe Land Trust and Sundance Consulting. Geoff is a long-time member of the Idaho Native Plant Society.
We hope to see you there. Bring a friend. Refreshments will be available.
