Join the Sawabi Chapter of the Idaho Native Plant Society on 4 November at 7:00 PM in the North Fork Room of the Pond Student Union, Idaho State University, for an exploration of the Arizona high chaparral country of Burro Creek with Bob McCoy. Paul Allen will introduce the plant family of the month, Celastraceae. Bring a snack to share and a friend if you can.
The plant photo at left pretty much typifies the chaparral country (lovely and prickly). It is dominated by shrubs and small trees (most with thorns), rocky peaks and deep canyons in old volcanic flows.
P.S. For planning purposes, If you are bringing a snack to share, please inform Hospitality Chair Cathy McPherson at 208-233-5899, firstname.lastname@example.org.
