Wood River walk May 14

trail on hillside

Sagebrush, Meadowlarks and Puffballs, oh my!, May 14, 6-7 p.m.; Slaughterhouse Canyon Trailhead

Join naturalist Kristin Fletcher for an evening walk Wednesday, May 14, on the new trail system up Slaughterhouse Canyon, just east of Bellevue, to explore the Sagebrush Ocean in our midst.  We’ll learn a little about the local geology and mining history of the canyon and then saunter to a fine spot overlooking the Wood River Valley, observing spring blooms along the way.  Mostly easy walking with a very short stretch of moderate hiking on an uneven surface.  We’ll meet at Hop Porter Park, leaving at 5:30 PM, or at the south side of Bellevue’s Memorial Park, leaving at 5:45 PM. Back about 7 PM.  Please no dogs.
