Title: Timothy E. Wilcox: Army Surgeon at Fort Boise, Boise’s first resident Botanist/Naturalist
Topic: Timothy E. Wilcox, an armysurgeon posted at Fort Boise in the late 1800’s, had been largelyforgotten except for an ambiguous connection with our local nativeprimrose (Primula cusickiana). Recent sleuthing has unearthed a wealth of fascinating information about Wilcox, documenting his surprisingly diverse contributions to natural history in the American frontier.
