Using Science and Partnerships to Restore Table Rock

Mesa Reserve, home of the iconic Table Rock Cross, is located in the heart of the highly-imperiled

sagebrush steppe ecosystem and provides environmental, social, health, economic and related

benefits to the surrounding community. Martha will share an overview of the

2016 fire that burned over the reserve and how science helps to guide the

City’s collaborative post-fire rehabilitation strategies for the area.

The “Sagebrush in Prisons” habitat restoration partnership engages

incarcerated men and women in plant production and ecological education

in six states. Nancy will give a brief talk on the program ad their

involvement in the Table Rock Restoration project.
