“Exploring the mountains and flora around Lake Baikal, Siberia”
In the summer of 2013, Josh and Wendy Irwin spent a month in the Lake Baikal region, exploring both the Khamar Dhaban and Barguzin Mountains. Although half a world away from home, they discovered a surprisingly familiar flora and an unexpectedly friendly culture. Join us to “travel abroad” in a place at first glance looks much like Idaho!(If you can’t make it, there will be an encore “Brown Bag” presentation: Tuesday, November 4 at NOON in the MK Nature Center auditorium.
